Why is skin important?
“Your skin is the largest organ of your body. Not only is it the protective layer for your body, but it also performs many other functions too.”
How often does it take your skin to renew itself?
On average, it takes your skin 28 days to renew itself. However, this can take longer for older skins. Therefore, when trying a new skincare product, always allow a period of a month before testing the results.
Skin in your twenties and thirties
Our skin looks its best in our twenties. However, the aging process can begin as early as the late twenties.
Skin in your forties
During your forties, hormonal activity begins to slow down and you may notice that your skin begins to lose some of it’s structure and support and you may notice the presence of fine lines and wrinkles.
Skin in your fifties and beyond
During your fifties, you may notice the presence of more fine lines and wrinkles. Other age related changes include small brown patches and skin tags.
What role can skin care play in the ageing process?
A targeted skin care plan can help to maintain a younger skin and minimise the age related changes in an older skin.
